Description
A collection of assorted domestic metalware comprising silver-plated, pewter, and brass items. The lot includes a three-light candelabrum featuring a central pillar, two scrolling arms, and gadrooned borders to the nozzles, drip pans, and circular stepped base. Also present is a cylindrical tankard with a plain body and C-shaped handle, and a silver-plated footed dish with a scalloped rim and pierced foliate borders. The collection further contains a pair of gold-toned goblets with etched scrolling motifs, a pair of baluster-shaped salt and pepper shakers, and a trumpet-shaped bud vase with a weighted gadrooned base. Decorative items include a circular brass trinket box with an embossed floral lid, a cast metal nutcracker with a dog-head hinge, and a flower frog with a partitioned grid on a decorative scalloped base. A cylindrical brass money box and an assortment of miniature vessels, including a wine cooler, cream jug, and various egg cups, are also included, alongside a long-handled candle accessory. The items are primarily constructed from silver-plated base metal (EPNS), pewter, and brass. No hallmarks, date letters, or maker’s marks were observed during inspection.
Condition report:
The items exhibit signs of age and use consistent with domestic metalware. Surface wear, tarnishing, and oxidation are visible across the collection. Some pieces show minor surface scratches and pitting. The bud vase is weighted at the base.
