Description
A 20th-century Italian mantel clock produced in the Rococo revival style. The waisted case features a green burl-wood effect finish, decorated with floral marquetry inlay to the front and sides depicting orange and yellow blossoms. The case is further embellished with ornate gilt metal foliate mounts, including a scrolled finial to the top, decorative borders, and four out-swept scrolled feet. The white circular dial features black Roman numeral hour markers and ornate pierced scrollwork hands, with two winding apertures protected by a glazed bezel. The dial is marked Imperial above the centre and Made in Italy at the bottom edge. Internally, the clock is fitted with a mechanical, twin-train movement striking on a bell. The brass movement plate is stamped Franz Hermle, Two (2) Jewels, Unadjusted, Made in Germany, and model number 130-070.

The case and decorative mounts appear in good overall condition with minor surface wear consistent with age. The movement is untested for timekeeping or striking function. Accompanied by a winding key.
