Description
A sterling silver bar brooch designed in the Celtic Revival style. The piece features an elongated openwork form of intertwined loops with a textured surface finish. It is set with a single oval black onyx cabochon held within a collet setting. The reverse of the mounting is stamped with the marks SIL and STERLING. The brooch is secured with a long pin and a standard C-clasp mechanism.
Condition report:
The brooch is in good vintage condition. The silver has developed a heavy dark patina and tarnish throughout. The black onyx cabochon is secure in its setting and shows no visible chips, cracks, or surface abrasions. The pin and clasp mechanism are intact and functional.
