Description
A devotional figure depicting the Virgin Mary as Our Lady of Lourdes, cast from a white composite material, such as bonded marble or resin, with a matte finish. The figure is depicted in a prayerful standing pose with hands joined and gaze directed upwards. She is dressed in a long, flowing robe and a veil that covers her head and shoulders. A rosary with a crucifix hangs from her right arm, and the base is decorated with relief-moulded clusters of roses, a traditional iconographic element associated with the apparition at Lourdes. The entire figure stands on an integral rectangular plinth. No maker’s marks, signatures, or inscriptions are visible on the surfaces shown.
Condition report:
The figure is in good overall condition. The delicate details, including the fingers, rosary beads, and floral elements on the base, appear to be intact. There are no obvious signs of chips, cracks, or professional repairs. Some very minor surface marks and faint discolouration in the deeper folds of the drapery are present, consistent with age and handling.
