Description
An assortment of mid-20th century board games, card games, and novelty toys. The collection includes a vintage edition of Monopoly manufactured by John Waddington Ltd. of London and Leeds, presented in its original red and white cardboard box. Also present is a Spear’s Games Picture Printing Outfit No. 80, a boxed set of Superior British Made Draughtsmen, a small-format edition of Sorry!, and a Clifford Series Draughts set. Card games comprise two Top Trumps sets, including a Star Wars Specials Episodes IV-VI pack, and a boxed set of Wills Cigarette Cards titled Household Hints. Mechanical and traditional toys include a Merit Gyroscope in its original red and black box, a bag of glass marbles, a set of white dominoes, and a travel chess and draughts set with red and white plastic pieces. The lot also features a green fabric Scrabble bag and a large, rectangular illustrated box for an athletic-themed action game. A black metal hip flask is included with the group. Many items are housed in a blue plastic crate.
Condition report:
Items are in vintage condition with visible signs of wear consistent with age and use. Cardboard packaging shows scuffing, edge wear, foxing, and some structural weakness; the Monopoly box is held together with elastic bands. The Wills Cigarette Cards are noted as incomplete, missing cards 7, 33, and 50. The completeness of the games and sets has not been professionally verified. Plastic and metal components show light surface marks. This lot is sold as seen.
