Description
This lot comprises a varied collection of vintage and retro toys, board games, and scientific kits, largely featuring iconic British brands. Key items include a Chad Valley Escalado mechanical horse racing game, complete with a green fabric track, metal clamp and cord mechanism, and several painted cast-metal horse figurines in various colours. The lot also contains a Meccano Outfit No. 1 construction set in a lithographed box and a Science Fair 200 in One Electronic Project Lab (Cat. No. 28-262) featuring a breadboard console. Also present is a Pepys Party Games ‘Educating Archie’ set, based on the mid-20th-century radio character, and a Magnetic Connectors building set containing magnetic rods and spheres bearing the CR logo. Other items include Scrabble Trap Tiles by Mattel, a pocket version of Mastermind by Invicta, a boxed set of English-made metal puzzles, a Fun at Sports fuzzy board game, a gold-tone Backgammon set, and a skipping rope with wooden handles. Condition report:
The items are in varied used condition consistent with age. The original boxes generally show storage wear, including corner scuffs, edge rubbing, and some tearing to the lids. The Escalado box exhibits significant wear and rubbing. Metal components, such as the Escalado horses and Meccano parts, show minor paint loss and surface oxidation. Fabric and plastic components appear used but generally well-preserved. Completeness of individual sets, including the electronic lab and construction kits, has not been fully verified.
