Description
A collection of five vintage automotive radiator grille badges, primarily of British origin and dating from the mid-20th century. The assembly includes a diamond-shaped Royal Automobile Club (RAC) badge featuring a central crown and monogram set against a red textured translucent background, with a blue-painted reverse and mounting hardware. Also included is an Automobile Association (AA) badge with a yellow plastic insert, winged top, and a lower tab stamped with a London address and serial number 0P29797. A circular Merchant Navy badge is present, featuring an enameled crest, naval crown, and laurel wreaths. The lot further contains a shield-shaped badge for the APV Motoring Section, attributed to the Aluminium Plant and Vessel Company, with a green enamel field and crossed checkered flags. Completing the group is a square badge displaying the Rediffusion corporate logo of figures in a tug-of-war formation on a red field. The badges are constructed from materials including chrome-plated metal, brass, enamel, and plastic.

Condition report:
The items exhibit varying levels of condition consistent with age and previous automotive use. The RAC and APV badges show minor surface scratches and light pitting to the chrome. The AA badge displays significant patina, surface oxidation, and wear to the yellow insert. The Merchant Navy badge is heavily worn with significant loss of plating, oxidation, and a distorted mounting bracket. The Rediffusion badge remains in good overall condition with light surface marks.
