Description
A Victorian style carved wooden mantel clock case, likely walnut or mahogany, featuring elaborate Rococo Revival ornament. The case is decorated with a central shell-carved cresting flanked by scrollwork and deep-relief floral and foliate motifs, all set above a stepped, rectangular plinth base with figured veneer. It features a central circular aperture for a clock face, bordered by a brass-coloured metal bezel. To the reverse is a hinged wooden door providing access to the interior. The case is missing its movement, dial, and hands.

Condition report:
Distressed condition with significant damage and losses to the rear door. Various chips and losses to the carved wood and base veneer. General surface wear, scratches, and abrasions throughout consistent with age and use. Incomplete; missing movement and dial.
