Lot 172:
Description
This is a 12-inch scale articulated action figure manufactured by Palitoy in the United Kingdom, representing a Talking Action Man from the late 1960s to early 1970s. The figure is constructed from a combination of hard and soft plastic with metal rivet joints at the wrists and ankles. It features a painted hair head sculpt, characteristic of earlier production models before the introduction of flock hair. The figure is dressed in a two-piece olive drab fabric military fatigue uniform, comprising a button-front jacket and matching trousers, paired with black plastic tall boots. Centrally located on the chest is a talking mechanism activated by a circular pull-ring and cord, with sound-venting perforations visible in the torso plastic. The figure is identified by an embossed metal dog tag on a bead chain, which bears the inscription ACTION MAN BY PALITOY.
Condition report:
Offered in played-with condition. There is a prominent dark circular stain on the right sleeve of the jacket. The internal talking mechanism is currently untested, and the pull-cord is in an extended position. General surface wear, minor scuffing, and slight discolouration are present on the plastic limbs and painted features. The figure is partially complete, missing original accessories such as a helmet, belt, and weaponry. No original box or packaging is included.
