Description
A pair of footed teacups and matching saucers manufactured by Royal Crown Derby in the Chelsea Garden pattern, reference number A.1233. Each piece is crafted from fine bone china and decorated with an Imari-inspired border featuring stylized floral sprays in shades of pink, yellow, and green. The design includes navy blue panels with gold diaper-work decoration and claret-red bands. The cups and saucers are finished with hand-applied gilding to the scalloped rims, handles, and foot rings. The base of each piece bears a red printed Royal Crown Derby factory mark with a crown over a monogram, the pattern name Chelsea Garden in script, and the reference A. 1233. Further markings include MADE IN ENGLAND and copyright dates. Roman numeral date codes MMVII and MMIX identify the manufacture years as 2007 and 2009 respectively.
Condition report:
The items are in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of restoration. The gilding remains bright and well-preserved across all pieces.
