Description
A Walther and Co. Stabil No. 51 construction set, manufactured in Berlin-Neukoelln, Germany. The set features a 50th-anniversary commemorative logo for the period 1886 to 1936. The collection consists of an assortment of perforated steel strips, plates, blue-painted metal panels, gears, and wheels fitted with rubber tyres. The components are housed in their original partitioned cardboard box, which features a lithographed lid depicting two boys with a suspension bridge and a crane. Visible markings include the diamond Stabil logo and the printed text Fabrik Technischer Beschaeftigungsspiele Walther and Co. Berlin-Neukoelln on the lid margin.
Condition report:
The set is in used vintage condition. Metal components show varying degrees of surface oxidation, patina, and general play wear. The blue-painted panels show scratches and paint loss. The rubber tyres show signs of age. The original cardboard box shows significant age-related wear, including edge scuffs, corner fraying, and a large area of adhesive tape repair to the top left of the lid. Internal cardboard partitions are present and show wear. Completeness has not been verified against a parts list and the set is sold as-is.
