Description
A collection of vintage Meccano construction components housed within a period wooden storage chest with internal partitions. The set comprises an assortment of metal parts including perforated strips, plates, girders, gears, pulleys, and wheels, finished in green, red, blue, and zinc plating. The collection includes several vintage lithographed advertising tins utilised for the organisation of small parts, featuring branding for OXO Cubes, Mick McQuaid Cut Plug tobacco, Meggezones, and Regesan Antiseptic Bronchial Lozenges. Accompanying the hardware are two printed instruction manuals: a booklet for Meccano Gears Outfit A and a larger manual featuring a father and son illustration on the cover. A small translucent plastic accessory box marked with the Meccano brand is also included. The wooden chest features a green-painted exterior with a metal latch and hinges.
Condition report:
The set is in used, vintage condition. Metal components exhibit varying degrees of play-wear, paint loss, and surface oxidation.
