Description
This large-scale die-cast model represents the John Player Special Lotus 72D Formula 1 car, attributed to the manufacturer Corgi Toys. The piece is constructed with a die-cast metal body in the signature black and gold team livery. It features a detailed plastic engine block at the rear, a seated driver figure wearing a blue, red, and white Ronnie Peterson helmet, and wide treaded tyres on gold-coloured rims. Markings include the number 1 on the nose and side pods, the name Ronnie Peterson on the cockpit sides, and multiple sponsor decals for John Player Special, Ford, Texaco, and Goodyear.
Length: Approximately 26 cm.
Condition report:
The item is in fair play-worn condition. It is missing the clear plastic cover that originally shielded the rear-mounted engine. Significant wear and lifting are visible on several decals, with notable losses to the nose cone and side pod areas. There are minor paint chips and accumulated surface dust throughout.
