Description
A varied collection of vintage decorative items and curiosities. The lot includes a wooden cribbage board with red lettering for Banks’s Traditional Beers and a flattened promotional cardboard box for a Weetabix 3-D Viewer advertising free 3-D animal cards. Sculptural pieces include a patinated Art Deco style figurine of a female dancer holding a fan and a metal sculpture of a dolphin on a wave-form base. The assortment also features a lithographed tinplate wind-up photographer toy and a small brass microscope. Further items include a seated Buddha figure, a miniature metal elephant, a floral-painted Russian-style nesting doll, an ornate silver-toned picture frame, a yellow swirl glass paperweight, and cobalt blue glassware consisting of two bottles and an eye-wash cup. The collection is completed by a carved light-coloured bead necklace, a small brass desk clock, a carved wooden vessel, a brass bell with a raised emblem, a magnifying glass, and several monochrome photographs.
Dancer figurine: approximately 26 cm height
Cribbage board: approximately 25 cm length.
Condition report:
The lot displays general age-related wear across all items. Metal objects show surface patination and tarnishing. The tinplate toy and Weetabix cardboard box exhibit scuffs, creasing, and minor surface losses. Glass and wooden items show light surface scratching. Functional mechanisms on the clock and wind-up toy have not been tested.
