Description
A framed silver-toned bas-relief plaque depicting Pope John Paul II in profile. The subject is portrayed wearing a mitre and clutching a ferula. The background composition features a detailed architectural rendering of St. Peter’s Basilica and the papal coat of arms. The work is signed L. PERIS on the lower left edge of the relief. An incised inscription along the lower margin reads GIOVANNI PAOLO II IL GRANDE. The plaque is mounted within a rectangular burr-effect wooden frame featuring multiple gold-toned inner borders.
Condition report:
