Description

A vintage arrow-shaped vitreous enamel advertising sign for Nivea, designed as a directional marker for a ski resort. The sign is shaped as a right-pointing arrow and features a horizontal two-tone colour scheme. The upper section consists of a pale yellow background with the dark blue text zum SKI-LIFT. The lower section features a dark blue background with the brand name NIVEA in white block lettering, the word Ultra in red cursive script, and CREME-ÖL in white block lettering. The reverse side has a dark, mottled finish and retains an original red paper instructional label printed in German, which translates as: Please do not nail this sign, but screw it on and use lead washers!. The sign is constructed of vitreous enamel on metal and features two pre-drilled mounting holes positioned vertically at the centre.

Dimensions: Not provided.

Condition report:

The sign is in good overall condition with vibrant colours and a high-gloss finish. There are small areas of enamel chipping and light oxidation visible around the two central mounting holes and along the outer edges, consistent with age and outdoor use. The front surface shows some light superficial scratching. A small white auction lot sticker is present on the front right.
