Description

This lot contains a varied collection of military, commemorative, and souvenir items from the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, primarily relating to German and American interests. The collection features a large display card with enamel souvenir pins representing various Bavarian and Southern German locations, including Munich, Königssee, and Neuschwanstein. Several pins display crossed US and German flags, indicative of items produced for US personnel stationed in Germany. Military items include a pair of US Army Sergeant First Class (E-7) rank insignia on their original Sta-Brite retail card and a 9/11 anniversary commemorative coin by the Military Service Co. depicting the Statue of Liberty and inscribed with One Nation Under God and Let Freedom Ring. Also included is an East German (GDR) red enamel pin for a Freiwilliger Helfer of the Deutsche Volkspolizei (DVP). Further items consist of a plastic sheet containing several small circular charms and badges, a gold-toned tie bar with an Iron Cross emblem, multiple circular badges in various metallic finishes depicting a central figure within a wreath, a Swim School medal on a ribbon, a red poppy commemorative pin, and a medal inscribed in part Viccie Comm… Embleton.

Green textile backing length: approximately 68.5 cm (27 inches).

Condition report:

The items are in good vintage to modern condition. Enamel on the souvenir pins remains largely intact with vibrant colours. Several items are still attached to original retail cards or held within protective plastic sleeves. Minor surface wear and tarnish are visible on the metallic surfaces of the older badges and medals.
