Description
An assortment of religious items consisting of several crucifixes and a small rectangular locket. The group includes two wooden crucifixes with applied metal corpora in silver and gold tones. There is a white moulded crucifix made from a synthetic material, likely celluloid. Another crucifix features a black body with silver-toned metal end-caps and an applied corpus. Two decorative silver-toned metal crucifixes feature black insets and are finished with trefoil terminals. One elaborate piece is cast from yellow metal with multiple figures in high relief, in the style of an Eastern Orthodox pectoral cross. The collection also includes a small rectangular silver-toned metal locket with embossed decorative relief, possibly a travel shrine or reliquary. No maker marks or hallmarks are visible on the items.
Condition report:
The items are in mixed vintage condition with visible surface tarnish and oxidation to the metal components. General surface wear, minor scratches, and a buildup of patina are present across the collection, consistent with age and personal use.
