Description
This assortment consists of several religious items representing both Eastern and Western Christian traditions. The group includes a Russian Orthodox triple-bar wall cross, cast in brass or bronze with intricate relief iconography. The central figure depicts the crucified Christ, with the upper bar featuring a representation of the Holy Trinity and side panels showing attendant figures. The surface is densely decorated with Cyrillic inscriptions and symbolic motifs. Also included is a wall-mounted plaque with a dark-stained wooden base and a relief-moulded insert depicting Albrecht Durers Praying Hands, finished with silver and gold-toned highlights. A small, stylised gold-tone emblem is present in the upper right corner of the plaque. The collection is completed by two wooden crucifixes: a large version with a medium-brown wooden cross and a gold-tone cast metal corpus, and a smaller light-toned wooden crucifix with a silver-tone cast metal figure and a hanging loop at the top.
Condition report:
The cast brass cross exhibits a dark, aged patina and surface wear consistent with its style and age. The praying hands plaque is in good overall condition with some minor surface marks; the hanging cord remains intact. Both wooden crucifixes are in good condition with minimal wear to the wood or the metal figures.
