Description
A vintage German cigar cutter featuring a genuine stag antler handle. The piece is manufactured by Pfeilring in Solingen, Germany, as evidenced by the stamped markings on the internal metal assembly. The text reads PFEILRING D.R.P. SOLINGEN accompanied by the company logo of an arrow passing through a ring. The D.R.P. (Deutsches Reichspatent) mark indicates the tool was produced between the late 19th century and the mid-20th century. The cutter is constructed with a curved, textured horn handle secured with a visible metal pin to a polished steel cutting mechanism. The head of the tool contains a circular aperture for cigar tip insertion.
Condition report:
The item shows signs of age and previous use. There is visible oxidation and pitting on the internal metal surfaces and the blade area. The polished exterior of the cutting mechanism shows surface scratches and minor tarnish. The stag antler handle remains structurally sound with natural colouration and texture.
