Description
An assortment of smoking pipes, primarily constructed from briar with various finishes including smooth-polished and rusticated textures. The collection features a variety of bowl shapes and stem configurations. One stem is marked with a white character resembling the letter B or BU, while others show faint, illegible stamps on the shanks. The pipes are housed in a two-tier wooden rack featuring a chip-carved finish to the scalloped edges and the central turned support.
Condition report:
The collection is in used, vintage condition. Visible charring and carbonised cake are present within the bowls and around the rims. Stems show signs of oxidation and surface discolouration. The wooden rack displays minor surface abrasions and wear commensurate with age.
