A wide black grosgrain ribbon band with a flat bow is situated around the base of the crown. The interior is lined with cream-coloured satin, featuring a gathered sunburst side wall and a central gold-tone printed crest for Herbert Johnson (Bond St) Ltd, 38 New Bond St, London, W. A tan leather sweatband is fitted to the interior rim, featuring a small white decorative bow at the rear and embossed gold lettering reading Herbert Johnson, 38 New Bond St, London W. The hat is accompanied by its original cardboard delivery box, which features a printed label with the Royal coat of arms, indicating the company held a Royal Warrant to Her Majesty the Queen. The box bears handwritten provenance details for A F Eadon Esq of Croft Farm, Holmesfield, near Sheffield, and includes a postage label with a 1960 date stamp.
