Description
This Ronson Varaflame Premier butane pocket lighter is constructed with a chrome-plated metal body. The exterior features a distinctive mid-century modern design characterised by a streamlined profile with an integrated horizontal fin or jet motif. The underside of the lighter is stamped with the manufacturer’s details, including RONSON, VARAFLAME, MADE IN ENGLAND, and PATENTED, alongside additional registration marks. The lighter is housed in its original black presentation case, which features a satin-lined interior lid. The interior lid is printed with the Ronson logo and a royal warrant crest, accompanied by text stating, BY APPOINTMENT TO H.R.H. THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH SUPPLIERS OF ELECTRIC SHAVERS RONSON PRODUCTS LTD.
Condition report:
The lighter exhibits significant signs of age and previous use, including widespread surface oxidation, pitting, and general wear to the chrome finish. The presentation case shows minor external wear, while the interior satin lining displays noticeable yellowing and discolouration. The mechanical and functional condition of the lighter has not been tested.
