Description

A vintage German-made tremolo harmonica manufactured by M. Hohner. This instrument, known as The Echo model, is constructed with a wooden comb and internal brass reed plates. It features nickel-plated metal cover plates embellished with decorative engraved foliate scrollwork borders. The upper cover plate is centrally stamped with the word ECHO above the text BELL METAL REEDS and REGISTERED. To the left of this central text is the vertical inscription MADE IN and to the right is GERMANY. The harmonica is accompanied by its original two-piece cardboard presentation box, which features a green textured faux-shagreen exterior and a pink paper-lined interior. A pictorial label inside the lid depicts a figure playing a horn in a mountainous landscape, captioned The ECHO and Made by M. Hohner, Germany. A piece of original protective tissue paper is also present.

Condition report:

The harmonica is in good vintage condition. There are minor surface scratches and faint tarnishing to the metal cover plates consistent with age and use. The wooden comb appears intact without visible cracking. The box displays light edge wear and minor surface marks, though the interior label remains clear and well-preserved.
