Description
A bronze reproduction sculpture of La petite danseuse de 14 ans (The Little Fourteen-Year-Old Dancer), after the 1881 original by Edgar Degas. The figure is cast in bronze with a dark brown patina, depicting a young ballerina in a standing pose with her hands clasped behind her back. The sculpture is mounted on a square integral bronze base, which is set upon a two-tier black rectangular plinth. A gold-toned metal plaque is fixed to the front of the plinth, bearing the transcription: La petite danseuse de 14 ans – 1881 / reproduction en bronze / d’après l’oeuvre de Degas. The piece is housed in its original black cardboard presentation box featuring a black satin-style lining.
Condition report:
The sculpture is in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or structural damage to the bronze or the integral base. There is minor surface scuffing and wear to the edges of the black plinth. The gold-toned plaque is secure and legible. The presentation box shows light shelf wear to the exterior.
