Description
This lot comprises two vintage portable lighting units. The first is a Winchester battery-powered headlamp system, consisting of a separate battery case and a lamp head connected by an electrical cord. The battery case is rectangular with a black crinkle-finish texture and features a metal clip on the reverse embossed with the Winchester name. The lamp head is constructed with a chrome-plated reflector and a clear glass lens, attached to a black and red elasticated fabric head strap. The second item is a compact, square-format portable hand lantern fabricated from metal with a weathered green paint finish. Attributed to Ash Flash, this unit features a top-mounted wire carry handle and a square glass lens protecting an internal reflector.
Condition report:
Both items exhibit significant signs of age and use. The Winchester headlamp system shows heavy fraying and wear to the fabric head strap, along with minor pitting and surface wear to the chrome lamp housing. The square metal lantern shows heavy age-related wear, including extensive surface rust, paint loss, and general oxidation to the metal body. The internal reflector is tarnished. Both units are sold as untested and for display or restoration purposes.
