Description
A Sarsaparilla novelty desk clock designed in the form of a twin-engine airplane in the Art Deco style. The item is constructed from cast aluminium with a brushed silver-tone finish, featuring streamlined wings, two independent three-blade propellers, and two teardrop-shaped landing gear fairings that serve as the base. The circular clock dial is mounted in the nose of the fuselage and is marked with the brand name Sarsaparilla, Quartz, and JAPAN at the base. The dial features black Arabic numerals, black hour and minute hands, and a red sweep second hand. The clock is powered by a battery-operated quartz movement.
Wingspan: approximately 32 cm.
Condition report:
The cast metal body shows surface wear and minor pitting throughout. There is a visible gap at the upper edge where the clock insert meets the fuselage housing. The quartz movement is untested and the working condition is unverified.
