Description
A Royal Hampshire cast metal figurine of a soldier from The Gloucestershire Regiment, commemorating the Battle of the Imjin River during the Korean War in 1951. The silver-tone figure is depicted in mid-stride, wearing contemporary combat uniform and carrying a submachine gun. The statuette is mounted on a square, tiered wooden base. The front of the base features a fixed metal plaque with the inscription The Gloucestershire Regiment Imjin, Korea 1951. The underside of the base is finished with black felt and bears a gold-tone maker’s mark consisting of a crown emblem above the text Royal Hampshire and Sculpted by R. Hardy.
Condition report:
The figurine is in good condition with minor surface wear and light oxidation consistent with age. There are no visible signs of structural damage or repairs.
