Description
A vintage German clockwork tinplate racing car produced by Johann Leopold Hess under the Hess-Präzision brand, modelled after a Bugatti Type 35. The toy features a dark teal lithographed body with yellow and red detailing. It is equipped with a fixed clockwork motor and integrated winding key on the right side of the chassis. The car includes an original lithographed tinplate driver figure in a yellow jumpsuit with red polka dots and a brown cap with goggles. It features a total of six wheels, including four main wheels and two side-mounted spares. The front is finished with a chrome-effect horseshoe radiator. Distinctive markings include a red joined HP monogram on the side panels, a circular red logo with a black cat silhouette on the rear tail, and a license plate reading I-970. The wheels are lithographed with tyre details and text reading Ballon Cord 13 x 45 in red and yellow.

Condition report:
The toy is in good vintage condition with bright, vibrant lithography. There are scattered scratches, minor paint losses, and small areas of surface oxidation consistent with age, particularly along the tyre rims, wheel spokes, and edges of the bodywork. The clockwork mechanism is present and the integrated key is intact.
