Lot 151:
Description
A mantel clock by Comitti of London featuring a polished mahogany case with a stepped base and twin carved scroll feet. The white circular dial is set with black Roman numerals and stylised hands behind a glazed brass bezel. The dial is signed Comitti of London and marked Made in England at the six o’clock position. The clock contains a brass eight-day mechanical movement manufactured by Franz Hermle and Sohn, bearing the FHS crown mark and numbered 108/W and S/S. The mechanism features a bell strike on an internal polished brass bell.
Condition report:
The mahogany case displays minor surface wear and light scuffing, particularly along the edges and corners of the stepped base. The dial and glass bezel are in good condition. The movement appears complete with no obvious missing parts, though it is untested and its working order is not guaranteed. No winding key is present.
