A German architectural-form mantel clock of Neoclassical design, manufactured by Kienzle. The case is constructed from cast metal with a worn dark patinated finish, featuring a stepped base and a pediment top surmounted by a decorative crest with a central urn and acanthus swags. The central dial housing is flanked by two square-section pilasters. The circular white dial features black Arabic numerals, an outer minute track, and black Breguet-style hands. The clock is fitted with a mechanical movement featuring a platform escapement, accessed via a circular opening at the rear. The brass backplate is stamped with the serial number 15519 and MADE IN GERMANY. The raised platform escapement is marked with KIENZLE CLOCK CO. The regulator plate is marked with F A and S R. A brass winding key is included.
Height: 29 cm.
Condition report:
The case shows significant wear and loss to the original patinated finish, revealing the lighter base metal in several areas. The dial and hands appear in good order. The movement appears complete but has not been tested for timekeeping accuracy or long-term working order.
