A diverse group of items to include an antique boxwood and brass four-fold rule; a set of balance scales with brass pans and a cast metal frame, mounted on a wooden storage box base; a patinated cast metal figurine of a bull on a rectangular base; a bronzed classical male athlete figure on a plinth; a winged cherub on a scrolled rococo-style base; a large novelty figure of a smiling man in a bowler hat and suit; a cylindrical kaleidoscope featuring a vintage-style world map design; a miniature mechanical cash register model; a stylised elongated metal cat; an orange glazed ceramic teapot with bird and floral decoration; two boxed sets of Messerbank knife rests; an embossed white metal trinket box with foliate motifs; a small marquetry inlaid wooden box; a mid-20th-century alarm clock; and an assortment of turned wooden bangles and small metal trinkets.
Condition report:
The collection shows general signs of age and use throughout. Metal items display varying degrees of surface oxidation, tarnish, and patina. Wooden elements, including the rule and boxes, show light surface wear and minor scuffs. The ceramic teapot appears to be in good order without significant damage. The cardboard packaging for the knife rests shows some minor wear and crushing.
