Description

This collection comprises a diverse range of antique and vintage items. A notable inclusion is a gilt metal medallion for the City of London, commemorating the 1962-1963 mayoralty of Sir Ralph Perring at the Mansion House, presented in a red leatherette box inscribed for Mr E. G. Wheater. The lot features a large cream-glazed stoneware foot warmer with a threaded stopper, bearing an impressed maker mark from Loughborough. Decorative metalware consists of a rectangular cast metal casket with scrolling relief work set with polished hardstone cabochons including banded agate, a black-finished box with intricate wirework and shell inlay, and a cast metal figurine of a caparisoned horse. The horological interest includes five miniature clocks in various styles, such as an owl-form clock, a carriage clock, and a longcase clock. Also present is a Hohner The Echo harmonica, made in the Republic of Ireland, in its original cardboard box. The assortment is completed by a miniature brass miner’s safety lamp, a bone-veneered box, a wooden folding rule, an enamel Pegasus belt buckle, a camera lens in a leather case, and a small quantity of gold-coloured coins.

Condition report:

The items generally show signs of age-appropriate wear and use. Metal objects exhibit varying degrees of surface oxidation and patination. The stoneware foot warmer appears structurally sound with minor surface staining and marking. The cardboard packaging for the harmonica is worn and frayed at the edges. All mechanical and horological components are untested.
