Description
A traditional Irish bodhrán or frame drum featuring a printed design to the skin in the style of a Guinness Extra Stout bottle label. The central motif includes the Guinness harp emblem above the brand name and the facsimile signature of Arthur Guinness. The design also incorporates the text St. James’s Gate Dublin and 568 ml. The drum is constructed with a natural goatskin head stretched over a circular bentwood frame. The lot is accompanied by a turned wooden tipper and an instructional booklet titled Secrets of the Bodhrán and How to Play It, co-authored by Seán D. Halpenny and Malachy Kearns and published by Roundstone Musical Instruments.
Drum diameter: approximately 36 cm.
Condition report:
The instrument is in good used condition. The natural goatskin head shows characteristic mottling and tonal variations. The wooden frame and tipper exhibit minor signs of handling and light surface wear. The accompanying booklet shows light age-related yellowing and minor wear to the cover edges.
