Lot 24:
Description
This vintage Montblanc model 332 fountain pen dates from the late 1930s to the late 1940s. The pen is constructed from black celluloid or hard rubber and features a traditional piston-filling mechanism operated by the knurled turning knob at the base of the barrel. The barrel is impressed with the numerical model designation 332 near the blind cap. The cap features the iconic Montblanc snowcap logo as a white outline on the black finial and is engraved with the brand name MONTBLANC around the base. There is a personalisation engraved on the side of the cap reading URSULA MAY in block letters with a white infill. The pen is equipped with a single-tone white metal nib, likely stainless steel or chrom-nickel steel. The gold-plated trim includes a pocket clip and two thin cap bands.
Condition report:
The pen shows surface micro-scratches and signs of use throughout the black body and cap. There is visible brassing and loss of gold plating on the pocket clip and the two cap bands, exposing the base metal beneath. The nib shows surface grime and dried ink residue but appears physically sound. The internal piston mechanism has not been tested for functionality or airtightness.
