Description
An Italian manufactured portable expanding file box, produced by Resisto. The item is constructed from pressed sheet metal with a gold-tone finish. The exterior lid is embossed with the alphanumeric code 1948-B-17 above a circular trademark logo. This logo features a five-pointed star, the name RESISTO, and the term DEPOSITATO, surrounding a central monogram of overlapping letters E and S. The box is designed as a portable archive, equipped with a double-hinged lid and a wire loop catch. Upon opening, the internal tiered metal carrier expands on pivots to fan out the contents. The interior includes a metal wire stay inside the lid and a collection of printed Italian index cards and technical data sheets titled CARATTERISTICHE E DATI TECNICI, intended for recording vehicle or machinery details such as chassis and engine information.
Condition report:
The item is in good vintage condition. The gold-tone exterior shows minor surface scuffing, faint scratches, and light wear consistent with age and previous use. The expanding mechanism, hinges, and front catch are fully functional.
