Description
A commemorative die-cast model set manufactured by Corgi to mark the Silver Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II in 1977. The set features a 1902 State Landau carriage finished in maroon and black livery with gold-toned detailing and red spoked wheels. The carriage is drawn by four horses in a white/cream finish, arranged in two pairs. Two postilion riders are seated on the near-side horses, dressed in red tunics and white breeches. Inside the carriage are two figures representing HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Philip. Two footmen figures are positioned at the rear. The entire model is mounted on a grey plastic display base which includes a small figure of a corgi dog. A silver-toned plaque on the front of the base is inscribed with 1902 State Landau – Silver Jubilee 1977. The original window box packaging is present, featuring the Corgi logo and the title 1902 State Landau – The Queen’s Silver Jubilee 1977 in English, German, and French. The carriage is constructed from die-cast metal, while the horses, figures, and base are made of plastic.
Condition report:
The model components and figures appear to be in good condition with well-preserved paintwork and no visible breakages or missing parts. The often-lost corgi dog figure is included. The original packaging shows significant wear, including heavy creasing to the cardboard, tears and crushing to the clear plastic window, and fraying at the corners and edges.
