Lot 6:
Description
A collection of vintage barware items, predominantly manufactured from brass and other metals. The group includes two large mechanical corkscrews: one of a double-lever wing design with a crescent-shaped handle, and another screw-pull model with a green-patinated frame. The frame of the screw-pull corkscrew features six circular relief symbols, depicting a horse, a rampant lion, a stag, a hand, and one containing the letters HZ. The lot also contains five decorative brass bottle openers in various forms, including a nude female figure, a rampant lion on a pedestal, a stylised hand, a horseshoe with a central heraldic crest, and a caduceus-inspired design with an entwined serpent. Additionally, the collection includes a chrome-plated travel corkscrew and cap lifter tool, which is stored in a brown leather snap-fastened pouch.
Condition report:
The items show evidence of age and frequent use. Surface oxidation, tarnish, and wear to the metal finishes are visible throughout the collection, with significant patination on the screw-pull corkscrew frame. Minor surface scratches and abrasions are present. The mechanical elements of the corkscrews appear to be in working order. The leather pouch exhibits light wear and scuffing but remains structurally sound.
