Description
This collection consists of several antique and vintage tools constructed from various hardwoods and forged metal. The assortment includes a heavy wooden rolling pin with integral turned handles. Also present is a long-handled hook featuring a wooden shaft with a cord-bound grip and a curved metal terminal. The group further contains a large wooden paddle with a rectangular head and a turned handle, of the form associated with a laundry beetle or butter paddle. Completing the collection is a small hand hook with a turned wooden handle and a curved iron or steel hook. No maker’s marks or identifying stamps are visible on any of the items.
Condition report:
The collection is in a condition consistent with age and heavy utilitarian use. All wooden surfaces show general wear, darkening, and minor abrasions. Metal components exhibit oxidation and surface rust. There is fraying and wear to the cord binding on the long-handled hook. No significant structural damage is visible.
