Description
A substantial collection of assorted costume jewellery dating primarily from the mid-to-late 20th century, presented within two vintage jewellery boxes. The first container is a rectangular red faux-leather jewellery box featuring a gold-tone metal latch and a black velvet-lined interior with a lift-out tray. The second, larger box is constructed from cream textured vinyl with printed scrolled border patterns, containing multiple tiers including a top tray, a main compartment, and a lower pull-out drawer lined with red fabric and white satin. The contents comprise a diverse range of items including multi-strand beaded necklaces in pink, black, and white tones, chunky silver-tone charm bracelets, gold-tone link chains, and wire-style necklaces. Materials identified include glass beads, plastic, faux pearls, faux coral, rhinestones, faceted crystals, and enamel. Specific pieces visible include a large faux-pearl necklace in a plastic bag, various pairs of pearl-effect and gold-tone stud earrings, rings, bangles, a green glass and enamel brooch, and a decorative purple metal ornament. No maker marks or hallmarks were observed on the jewellery or the boxes during inspection.
Condition report:
The collection is offered in as found condition. A significant portion of the jewellery is tangled and will require sorting. The boxes show visible signs of age-related wear, including scuffs and marks to the exterior surfaces, with some staining present on the lid of the cream box. Metal components may exhibit tarnishing or plating loss consistent with age and use.
