Description
An assortment of vintage and antique items comprising decorative objects, glassware, and printed ephemera. The lot includes a Past Times publication titled Historic Headlines of the Twentieth Century, containing facsimile newspaper front pages of significant events. Aviation memorabilia is present in the form of a red glass British European Airways (BEA) paperweight with etched reservation details. A ceramic tobacco jar with a wooden lid features German text and transfer-printed scenes of Virginia tobacco planters; the side bears a Past Times mark and a capacity of 100g. A large blue and white transferware pitcher depicts a pastoral scene with floral borders. Glassware includes two square-based crystal decanters with facet-cut stoppers, a large faceted crystal sugar sifter with a silver-toned metal cap, and a smaller cut-glass shaker. A green glazed ceramic tile trivet with abstract black designs is set into a brass-toned metal frame with feet. The collection is completed by a red cast-metal K6 telephone box model, a wood-toned winged cherub head figure, an oxidised cast-iron saddiron, and a vertical folding wooden measuring rule.
Condition report:
Items are generally in good vintage condition. The cast-iron flat iron displays significant surface oxidation and rusting consistent with age. The ephemera folder shows minor wear to the edges and corners. The ceramic and glass items appear to be intact with no major chips or cracks visible. The wooden rule shows age-related wear and patination.
