Lot 89:
Description
This lot comprises three mid-20th-century boxed toys and games. The first is a Bayko Building Set, manufactured by Plimpton Engineering Co. Ltd. of Liverpool, England. It consists of Bakelite-style plastic building components including red roof sections, green and white window and door frames, and wall bricks, designed for assembly with metal rods. The components are housed in the original dark-textured cardboard box with a pictorial paper label. Some internal parts are organised into vintage tins and plastic bags. The second item is a Blow Football game, made in England. The set includes a printed cardboard pitch base, wire goal frames, cardboard player figures on metal stands, and plastic blowing tubes, contained within the original illustrated box. The third item is a German Schulwebrahmen Isa school weaving loom. The wooden loom includes a partially completed red and white striped textile project on the warp threads and a wooden shuttle. It is presented in its original green and red illustrated cardboard box.
Condition report:
The items exhibit various degrees of age-related wear. The Bayko box lid shows significant wear, with the paper label scuffed and partially peeling at the edges; the internal components appear to be in used condition. The Blow Football box has scuffing, rubbing, and crushing to the corners and edges, while the components show signs of play wear. The weaving loom box shows moderate edge wear and rubbing, though the wooden loom itself remains in good used condition.
