Description
A contemporary cold-cast metal sculpture titled Moon Bear, produced by Masterworks Limited Editions and designed by artist Peter Sedlow. The work depicts a standing Native American figure in detailed regalia, including a bear-head and pelt headdress, fringed buckskin-style clothing, and moccasins. The figure is shown holding a rifle in both hands and carrying a quiver. The sculpture features polychrome hand-painted accents to the beaded necklaces, moccasins, and garment ornamentation. The circular integral base, modelled as rocky terrain, is incised Moon Bear and P.C.S to the front. The reverse is stamped Masterworks Limited Editions and Fine Pewter, and is hand-numbered 392/1500. The sculpture is mounted on a square, polished black marble plinth.
11.5 x 4.0 x 4.0 inches (approximate).
Condition report:
The sculpture is in generally good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of repair. There is a noticeable accumulation of surface dust and light grime throughout the textured areas of the casting and on the marble plinth. Minor surface wear consistent with age is present.
