Lot 137:
Description
This lot comprises two teapots of contrasting design. The first is a French modernist teapot by L’Etangs Remy, manufactured from polished stainless steel. The piece features a bulbous body, a short wide spout, and a flat lid with a circular ring finial. The base is stamped with the maker’s mark L’ETANGS REMY above MADE IN FRANCE, with additional partially legible French text identifying the material as stainless steel. The second item is an ornate Moroccan-style footed teapot of the type used for serving mint tea. The body and high-domed lid are decorated with hand-chased and embossed foliate and geometric patterns. It features a long, curved spout, a decoratively cast handle, and stands on four scrolled feet. The base is marked with an oval stamp containing the initials ID and LL with the text HIGH QUALITY below. This item lacks precious metal hallmarks and is composed of a polished white metal alloy or silver-plated base metal.
Ornate teapot height: 24 cm
French teapot height: 15 cm.
Condition report:
Both teapots are in good overall condition with surface wear consistent with age and use. There are light surface scratches and minor tarnish present on both pieces. No significant dents, deep gouges, or signs of repair are visible.
