Lot 154:
Description
A tall, hand-blown art glass vase of slender, tapering cylindrical form, often referred to as a tusk vase. The piece is crafted from deep amethyst-coloured glass and features a dense internal texture of small air bubbles throughout the body, a technique known as pulegoso or seeded glass. The vase has a slightly organic, irregular profile characteristic of hand-blown manufacture and terminates in a flat, polished base. The minimalist aesthetic and elongated proportions are indicative of mid-20th-century modern design, specifically in the style of Murano or Scandinavian glassworks. No maker marks or signatures are visible on the body or base.
Height: approximately 61 cm to 66 cm.
Condition report:
The vase appears to be in good overall condition. There is light surface wear and minor shelf-wear to the underside of the base consistent with age and use. No chips, cracks, or visible restorations were noted upon inspection.
