Description
A pair of vintage Carlsberg brewery point-of-sale advertising displays designed for back-bar illumination. The first item is a Carlsberg Export Lager display constructed from translucent blue acrylic featuring an internal gold-toned figurine of the Little Mermaid, the iconic symbol of Copenhagen. The front face is printed with the brand name in gold script and the product name in block lettering. The reverse is hollowed to accommodate a light fitting. The second item is a Carlsberg Pilsner Lager display consisting of a white plastic trapezoidal base supporting a faux glass mug. The mug is filled with simulated beer and topped with a resinous foam head, bearing the brand logo in gold and red. The base features the red crown and script logo above the words PILSNER LAGER in black. The underside is open to allow for an upward light source.
Blue display: 16.5 cm high
Faux pint display: 31 cm high.
Condition report:
Both items show signs of age and previous use in a pub environment. The blue acrylic display has visible surface scratches and accumulated dust. The white plastic base of the pilsner display shows significant yellowing and surface grime. The simulated foam head exhibits minor pitting and discolouration. Neither unit has been tested for electrical functionality and they are sold for decorative purposes.
