Description
A mantel clock featuring a cast gilt-metal case in the Baroque revival style. The decorative housing includes scrolling foliate and shell motifs, with a central female mask positioned above the dial and a turned finial at the apex. The case is supported by four bracket feet and features a pierced scrollwork panel at the base. The circular white dial is set with black Roman numeral hour markers and is inscribed Imperial and MADE IN ITALY. The clock is fitted with ornate black-finished hands and two winding apertures. The interior contains a mechanical, spring-driven twin-train movement manufactured by Franz Hermle. The rear movement plate is stamped Franz Hermle, Made in West Germany, and 130-070. The mechanism features an internal bell for striking.
Condition report:
The case retains a bright gold-tone finish and is in good aesthetic condition. The dial appears clean. The movement is complete with its bell, though the mechanical function is untested. A winding key is not included.
