Description
A collection of vintage mantel and alarm clocks of varying styles and periods. The group features a prominent upright rectangular clock housed in a dark stained wooden case with a circular silvered dial, black Arabic numerals, and a chrome-toned bezel. This clock features an exposed rear mechanical movement with an oxidised metal disc and a protruding setting lever with a black knob. The collection further includes a wooden humpback-style mantel clock with a white dial; a blue-cased twin-bell mechanical alarm clock; a large, ornate white mantel clock in the Gothic or Rococo style, likely constructed from cast resin or painted metal; a small chrome novelty alarm clock with a dial featuring cartoon characters; a monochrome mechanical alarm clock with luminous numerals; a small ornate gold-toned metal clock; and a small square-cased wooden clock. No maker marks are clearly legible on the primary wooden instrument clock.
Condition report:
The items show varying degrees of wear consistent with age and use. The rectangular wooden clock exhibits scuffs, scratches, and finish loss to the case, with visible surface oxidation and corrosion to the exposed rear movement. Other items show surface wear, minor tarnishing to metal components, and dust accumulation. All clocks are sold as untested for timekeeping accuracy or functionality and are offered as-is for parts or restoration.
