Description
A collection of commemorative enamel pins released by Snickers as the official snack food sponsor for the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the United States. The set is presented in its original black presentation case, which features a white satin-style interior lid and a black foam-backed velvet display tray. The interior lid is printed with the Snickers brand logo, the official World Cup USA94 tournament logo, and the text Limited Edition Commemorative Pin Collection. Small copyright text for 1994 WC 94/ISL and Mars Incorporated is visible at the base of the lid. The collection comprises national flag pins for the competing nations, each featuring the tournament mascot, Striker the Pup, in various football-related poses alongside the respective flags. The nations represented include Argentina, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Colombia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the USA. A larger central pin depicts the mascot with the FIFA World Cup trophy.
Condition report:
The pins are in excellent condition with no visible damage, chips, or loss to the enamel. The black presentation case shows light signs of age and wear to the exterior. The white satin interior lining exhibits some yellowing and foxing consistent with the age of the item.
