Lot 34:
Description
A vintage wooden walking stick featuring a crook-style handle of polished light-toned wood. The handle terminates in a hand-carved animal head terminal, painted black, which depicts a bovine figure such as a bull or cow. The shaft is constructed from a natural wood branch, retaining its dark, textured bark with prominent lenticels and natural knots throughout its length. The handle is joined to the shaft with a flush transition. No maker’s marks, stamps, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The walking stick exhibits general surface wear consistent with age and practical use. There is noticeable wear and thinning to the black painted finish on the carved bovine terminal. The polished wood handle shows light scuffing and minor surface scratches. The natural bark shaft remains intact with expected variations in texture and minor surface abrasions.
